Country French Ambiance

Upon entering the dining room one's eye is immediately drawn to the gleaming copper frame surrounding the large fireplace. Golden flames are reflected in the highly polished wood floors, and guests feel as if they have been transported to an elegant Provençal inn.

Delightful French Cuisine

Le Domaine's menu is an exploration of the senses. Start with Soupe aux Crevette Roses, a light, delicious soup of tiny Maine shrimp, tangy cilantro, and organically grown tomatoes. Next, feast on Ris de Veau Pané à l'Anglaise, veal sweetbreads lightly crusted to preserve the delicate flavor, enhanced with capers and lemon juice. And for dessert, don't miss the Folie du Chef, a rich chocolate treat surrounded by a Grand Marnier Crème Anglaise. Le Domaine is a wonderfully restorative retreat, catering to clients who demand the finest in food and service.

The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday, from June 13 to Nevember 3. Reservations are recommended. Our dining room and gardens can also be reserved for perfect special occasions. Let us make your wedding reception, family reunion or birthday party truly memorable.

A Tradition of Fine Hospitality

Over 50 years ago, Marianne Purslow-Dumas came to Downeast Maine during World War II, and created a restaurant and inn reminiscent of her native Provence, France. Her daughter, Nicole Purslow, continued the tradition of excellent French country cuisine, exceptional wines, and fine hospitality.
Now the legacy has passed on to a new owner, but with the staff still here to provide you with the utmost in care.
